Govt bans purchase of foreign data systems for state needs for 2 yrs

MOSCOW, Dec 26 (PRIME) -- The Russian government has banned the purchase for state needs foreign systems of data storage for two years, according to a document released on Thursday.

The decision is made “in order to ensure security of critical information infrastructure of the Russian Federation, including the one used for the national projects.”

“To impose a ban on admission of hardware and software complexes of data storage systems…from foreign countries in the purchases of goods for state and municipal needs,” the document said.

The initiative took effect on December 21.
